17th Annual Florida Hospital Bolt Run prompts road closures this weekend

This weekend is the 17th annual Florida Hospital Bolt Run, in partnership with the Lightning Foundation and the Tampa Bay Lightning.

A portion of each registration will be donated to both the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and the March of Dimes via the Lightning Foundation.

This year's race includes a 5K, 5-mile, and 1-mile family fun run. Online registration closes at 10am, October 19. Runners who wish to participate after that can register on site on October 19 and the morning of the race from 5:30am to 7:30am. Due to the popularity of the Bolt Run, a portion of Bayshore Blvd. will be closed on Saturday, October 21, 2017. Expect closures in both directions on Bayshore from Howard Ave. to Brorein St. The Platt St. bridge/Channelside Dr. will also be closed from Bayshore Blvd. to Jefferson St. Access to local businesses will be maintained on Platt St. to Bayshore Blvd. 

Residents, visitors, and drivers can expect closures in place from 6am to 10:30am on Saturday, October 21, 2017. See the attached map for suggested detours.
