There are dozens of ongoing construction projects throughout the bay area. The work listed here is updated throughout the week, as needed, and reflects the major projects with full road closures and/or detours for the week of Friday, November 3 through Friday, November 10.

I-75
The northbound I-75 exit ramp (Exit 261) onto westbound I-4 will be closed between 9:00 p.m. and 5:00 a.m. Monday and Tuesday (November 6 and 7) nights.

DETOUR: Drivers will directed onto eastbound I-4 to use Exit 10 (CR 579), turn left at the top of the ramp onto northbound CR 579, cross over I-4, then turn left to enter westbound I-4.

SR 50
One lane of SR 50 (Cortez Boulevard) may be closed from I-75 up to a half mile in each direction between 6:30 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. Sunday through Thursday (November 5 - 9) nights, and from 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday (November 6 - 10).

During some of the night closures, drivers can expect traffic shifts and delays between 7:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. on SR 50 in the I-75 interchange area as traffic may be reduced to one lane in each direction and both directions of traffic placed on the westbound lanes. This will result in two-way traffic on what normally is a two-lane westbound section of roadway.

In addition, all traffic entering and exiting I-75 may be limited to right turns only. This will mean drivers who normally would be making a left turn movement onto or off the ramps may have to go the opposite direction and make a U-Turn on SR 50 to go in their desired direction. Traffic congestion and delays are expected during the traffic shifts on SR 50 and on the I-75 exit ramps whenever traffic is in this temporary overnight alignment.

S. HOWARD AVE.
A portion of S Howard Avenue between W Platt Street and W Kennedy Boulevard will close beginning on Monday, November 6, 2017 for sidewalk construction.  One northbound lane on S Howard Avenue between W Platt Street and W Kennedy Boulevard will close daily from 9 am to 4 pm beginning November 6, 2017.

It is anticipated that all lanes on S Howard Avenue will reopen to traffic by 4 pm on Friday, November 10, 2017, weather permitting.

ORIENT ROAD
Orient Road between Sligh Avenue and Hillsborough Avenue is closed while department crews begin emergency repairs on a broken 8” force main pipe. Detours will be in place to direct drivers around the closed section of road and work site. This area will reopen to traffic by close of business on Monday, November 6, 2017.
