Orlando Magic forward Vince Carter
injured his left ankle late in the second quarter versus the New Jersey Nets
on Friday.
Carter was driving to the lane late in the second period when he stepped on
Devin Harris' foot, rolling his ankle in the process. Carter went to the
ground immediately and reached for his left ankle.
He limped off the court and sat on the bench for a few moments before gingerly
walking to the locker room. Carter was in the locker room with ice on his
ankle when the second half got underway.
The North Carolina product had 16 points, four assists, and three rebounds
before exiting the contest.
The 6-foot-6, 220-pound Carter was making his return to New Jersey, where he
spent four-plus seasons. Carter was traded by the Nets to the Magic this
offseason for a package that included Courtney Lee, Rafer Alston and Tony
Battie.
