TAMPA - The Tampa Bay Buccaneers announced today that they have traded cornerback Eric Wright to the San Francisco 49ers for a conditional selection in the 2014 NFL Draft.
Wright joined the Buccaneers in 2012, playing in 10 games, while recording 37 tackles and one interception.
He began his career with the Cleveland Browns in 2007 and played the 2011 season with the Detroit Lions, starting 16 games and registering four interceptions, before his lone campaign with the Buccaneers.
Wright came in with a big contract and never lived up to his hype.
He ended up getting suspended for four games last season for use of Adderall, a performance enhancing drug.
You knew then after Wright let his team down at that point, Head Coach Greg Schiano was looking to ship him out as fast as he could.
Wright is from California, so the 49ers bring him closer to his hometown of LA.
