Special day for young athletes at One Buc Place

With all the yelling and intensity felt around One Buc Place during training camp, on Thursday, for once, it wasn't coming from the field.  It was coming from the not-even-half-full stands.  It was loud, and it was all good.

For the past few years, the Buccaneers have invited Tampa Bay area Special Olympians out to watch the team practice, before they get their own shot at hitting the field.  They run drills, interact with players, and basically have the time of their lives.

LeGarrette Blount was out there helping.  So were Doug Martin, Connor Barth, Michael Koenen and Sammie Stroughter.  General Manager Mark Dominik even showed a different side that we don't usually see.  But all were genuinely having fun--creating real-life fantasy football for the dozens who took part.

But with all the emotion that generally pours out of the overwhemingly hot summer training camp weeks, this had to be the highlight for just about every person out there.  And a reminder for the players of just why they do what they do.

Click on the video above to hear what the true highlight of the day was, and how it had absolutely nothing to do with football.
