Sooners beat Bulls in Women's College World Series opener

Bulls can't hold lead

TAMPA - Not exactly the start Head Coach Ken Ericksen envisioned as the Oklahoma Sooners sent the Bulls to the loser's bracket after beating USF today 5 to 1 in the Women's College World Series.

USF took a 1-0 nothing lead in the top of the fourth on Kourtney Salvarola's single that scored Courtney Goff from second.

But in the bottom of the inning, Lauren Chamberlain gave Oklahoma the lead for good with a two-run homer off Bulls Pitcher Sara Nevins

Oklahoma would add three more runs in the fifth.

Sooners advance to winner's bracket to play the winner of the LSU-California game.  South Florida will play the loser in an elimination game.
