Nicks says he's MRSA free, practiced on limited basis

Report: Validity of captain's vote discussed

Tampa - An interesting day over at One Buc.  Guard Carl Nicks says he's MRSA free and did practice on a limited basis today with the team.

Nicks says he will do whatever he can to be ready to play against the Saints Sunday.

The second development- a reported player's-only meeting.  One of the topics believed to be discussed was the validity of the captain's vote, and why Quarterback Josh Freeman was not re-elected.

Holding a players-only meeting the second week of the season is rather odd.  Normally these meetings are conducted when the coaching staff isn't getting to the players or the players are fed up with something and need to air it out.

On another note, Safety Dashon Goldson was fined "a significant amount" for his helmet-to-helmet hit in Sunday's loss to the New York Jets.
