There doesn't appear to be a single legendary player on the Jesuit basketball team. But as a group, they just might be remembered as an all-time great.
The Tigers are on the verge of a Florida state basketball title, needing wins in the state semifinal on Friday and the final on Saturday to finish a remarkably dominant season.
The Tigers are 29-1, having only lost in a tournament in California by three points, and having won their 29 games all by double-digits. Thirteen of those wins were by 30 points or more.
Remarkably, not a single one of the six seniors on the team is headed to a major college program. They have played together a long time, though, and say that's helped them in this dominant run.
When the Tigers take the court as one of Florida's Class 5A final four this week, they'll have some extra support in the stands. Players from the 1950 and 1984 Jesuit teams will be there. They are the other two Jesuit teams to win state titles.
