Heath's seven year record was 97-130

Heath fired after 12-20 season

Tampa - USF has dismissed Stan Heath as men's head basketball coach.  It's unclear if new AD Mark Harlan fired Heath because he technically doesn't take over as AD until April 7.

Regardless, Heath';s departure was expected.  His team has spiraled downward since their near Sweet Sixteen run in the NCAA Tournament two years ago.

Here's the USF press release on Heath's firing.  No press conference has been scheduled.

University of South Florida Athletics announced Friday men’s basketball coach Stan Heath has been relieved of his duties.

Heath was 97-130 in seven seasons at USF, including 12-20 this past season.  Coach Heath’s dedication to USF student-athletes and the many positives he brought to the program are appreciated.

Incoming Director of Athletics Mark Harlan will lead a national search for a replacement.
