Bucs safety Dashon Goldson doesn't beat latest NFL suspension

Bucs safety will miss Detroit game

TAMPA - Tampa Bay Buccaneers safety Dashon Goldson has been suspended one game without pay for his helmet-to-helmet hit on Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Roddy White.

The NFL announced the suspension Monday, stating that Goldson will serve the one-game ban during Sunday's game against the Detroit Lions.

It marked the third time this season that Goldson, who signed a lucrative offseason contract to join Tampa Bay, has been penalized by the league for an illegal hit.

The ban will cost Goldson a $264,705 game check

Goldson was issued a one-game suspension for his Week 2 hit on New Orleans Saints running back Darren Sproles, but beat the suspension, receiving a $100,000 dollar fine.

Goldson also was fined $30,000 for striking a defenseless player in the head and neck area in the season opener against the New York Jets.
