TAMPA - Mike Glennon threw a 1-yard touchdown pass to tackle Donald Penn and led a long fourth-quarter TD drive to put the Buccaneers ahead for good in a 22-19 victory Monday night over the Miami Dolphins.
Bobby Rainey's 1-yard run capped an 80-yard drive, and the Bucs held on the final 10 minutes to become the last team in the league to win this season.
Rainey was pressed into service with the injuries to Doug Martin and then tonight to Mike James who injured his ankle and was carted off the field.
Ryan Tannehill threw touchdown passes of 6 and 19 yards to Rishard Matthews, but got no help from a running game that was limited to just 2 yards rushing.
The Bucs defense showed up in a big way on the Dolphins final possession of the game. Two sacks and a game-ending interception by Darrelle Revis sealed the Bucs first win of the season.
The Dolphins looked out of sync early in the game, falling behind 15 -0, but closed the gap and then took the lead in the 2nd half before Rainey's one yard TD.
So, the Bucs are now 1-8 on the season and find themselves with another short week as they play host to 2-7 Atlanta Falcons Sunday at Raymond James Stadium.
