Washington Capitals superstar Alex Ovechkin is
out for the weekend home-and-home against the Florida Panthers with an upper
body injury.
The reigning Hart and Rocket Richard Trophy recipient, Ovechkin is considered
week-to-week because of an upper-body strain he suffered in Sunday's overtime
loss to Columbus.
On the season, he leads the league coming into play Friday with 14 goals and
has also added nine assists in 14 games.
He missed Wednesday's 3-2 loss to New Jersey as Washington fell to 1-4-0
without him on the ice since he came into the league at the start of the
2005-06 season.
