After raising his fist during the national anthem last week, Tampa Bay Lightning hockey player JT Brown has laid out steps to address what he was protesting.

Brown tweeted Wednesday morning about issues he hopes to bring awareness to. He highlighted police brutality, racial injustice and inequalities, but also discussed what he is doing to bring attention to them.

He thanked his teammates for their support and wanted to show these issues were "not going unnoticed by the hockey community."
Brown says he has begun speaking with Tampa Police Department, and will even begin participating in ride alongs. He is donating more than 600 tickets so organizations like the Bigs in Blue and the RICH house can come to Lightning games, and meeting with the kids and officers afterwards.

Additionally he will be getting involved with the Winston Park Boys and Girls Club, where HCSO deputies volunteer. Brown says he will continue to explore new ways to get involved in the community to help build bridges and create rewarding relationships.
Brown says he is done raising his fist during the national anthem, and is now using the support, opportunity and platform to share suggestions and continue respectful conversations to help make a difference in the community.
