Tampa, FL (Sports Network) - Augustus Gilchrist scored a game-high 27 points and grabbed seven rebounds to lead the South Florida Bulls to a 78-58 win over the Florida Atlantic Owls in a non-league affair at the Sun Dome.

Chris Howard tacked on 15 points for USF (6-1), while Dominique Jones added 11 points and 10 assists to the mix.

FAU (2-2) was paced by Greg Gantt, who netted 19 points on 5-of-8 shooting from downtown. Raymond Taylor got involved with 12 points and eight assists, while Brett Royster contributed 10 points and seven rebounds.

The Bulls dropped in 6-of-12 shots from beyond the arc in the first half, helping them to open a 35-29 advantage at the intermission.

USF shot a sizzling 60.0 percent from the floor over the final 20 minutes, as it pulled away for the 20-point victory.

The Bulls knocked down 10-of-21 long-range attempts, while handing out 19 assists and committed only nine turnovers.
