Tampa Bay Rays release 2014 spring training schedule and ticket prices

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. - The Tampa Bay Rays are already preparing for the upcoming season. Wednesday the team released its 2014 spring training schedule.

The Rays will play 14 home games at Charlotte Sports Park.

Pitchers and catchers will report on Friday, February 14, and will hold their first workout the following day.

Position players will report on Wednesday, February 19. The first full-squad workout will be held on Thursday, February 20.

The Rays open their spring training schedule with a home game on Friday, February 28 against the Baltimore Orioles.

Tampa Bay will play against all four American League East opponents this year. The Rays will play the 2013 World Series Champion Boston Red Sox in Charlotte County on March 16 and 25.

The Rays will conclude their spring training schedule with a game against the Montgomery Biscuits, Tampa Bay's Double-A affiliate. The game will be played at Montgomery Riverwalk Stadium in Montgomery, Alabama.

Tampa Bay will open the 2014 regular season with a home game at Tropicana Field against the Toronto Blue Jays on Monday, March 31.

Single-game spring training tickets cost between $10 and $29 and will go on sale in January.

Fans interested in purchasing a spring training season ticket package can place a $100 deposit by visiting raysbaseball.com/springtraining or by calling 888-FAN-RAYS. People who place a deposit will be contacted in January to select their seats.
