Would-be robbers use forklift to try to remove ATM, not successful

WESLEY CHAPEL, Fla. - Would-be robbers tried to steal an ATM at a Pasco County bank overnight using a forklift, said Pasco County deputies, though the attempt was unsuccessful.

Deputies received the call around 12:30 a.m. Saturday morning that suspects had driven the forklift up to the TD Bank on Silver Maple Parkway in Wesley Chapel.

The building was heavily damaged and the ATM was smashed, but no money was taken and there was no entry into the bank.

So far, there are no suspects but deputies are investigating.
