A neighbor called 911 to report a vicious beating and home invasion at her next door neighbor’s home in the Silverthorn golf course community.

Hernando County investigators arrived on scene just before 5 p.m. at 4439 Middle Fairway Drive in Spring Hill.

“When they arrived, they found two women in serious condition,” Hernando County Sheriff'sOffice Spokesperson Michael Terry said.

Deputies set up a perimeter, and within 20 minutes, the suspect was arrested in the median of the Suncoast Parkway.

“There was a short foot chase, and one of our deputies had to scale a fence to go get him,” Terry said.

Terry would not release how the adult women were attacked, only to say it was was serious enough for them to be airlifted to area trauma centers. The suspect will be charged with aggravated assault. Those charges could be enhanced depending on the condition of the victims.

The community is gated. Many residents said they don't even lock their doors. Any crime is rare, people said, let alone a vicious home invasion attack.

“That is scary,” Ed Hart said. “Actually, I am going to go back home and chat with my mom real quick.”
