Tampa police searching for South Tampa home invasion suspect

A woman was on her way home early Saturday morning when a armed male confronted her at her apartment. This happened just after midnight on South MacDill Avenue.

The suspect followed the woman inside her house, tied her up and continued to trash her apartment.

For 45 minutes, the suspect went through the apartment. After he left, the victim was able to free herself and run to a neighbor's home where they called 911.

Tampa detectives are still trying to figure out if a sexual crime was committed during the home invasion.

The suspect is described as a Black male between the ages of 25-35, 5'10-6 feet tall wearing all black clothing and a black beanie. He had a deep scruffy voice according to the victim.

The investigation continues.
