TAMPA, Fla - A car hit a family of four walking across the intersection at Fowler and Nebraska in Tampa on Sunday afternoon.
Police say a driver in a Black Mazda Tribute SUV ran the red light heading southbound on Nebraska, tried to veer out of the way of the four people, and ended up running into all of them.
Witness at the scene said the driver of the SUV simply bolted from the scene.
Police did try and follow the hit and run driver in a helicopter, but the vehicle was not located.
Two victims were treated at the scene, and two others were taken to the hospital as a precaution. They are all expected to recover.
Police say there are red light cameras at the intersection and they're hoping to use those to identify the hit-and-run driver.
