Last Update: 6/26/2009 9:57 am
JUPITER, FL -- Two road construction workers were killed and another was injured early Friday morning while working to repave Alternate A1A in Jupiter, according to police.

Jupiter Police spokesperson Sally Collins says a woman driving a Toyota Solara crashed into the three workers while heading north at about 12:30 a.m. Friday. She then collided into a Toyota Camry. The drivers of both cars were not injured.

Workers were in the process of repaving part of Alternate A1A, in both the north and southbound lanes between Toney Penna Drive and Frederic Small Road. The accident occured in the northbound lanes, near the 3 Palms Plaza.

The injured worker was taken to the Jupiter Medical Center, but his injuries did not appear to be life-threatening.

Both directions of Alt A1A were back open for traffic at about 6:30 a.m.

Unspecified charges are pending against the driver of the car that police say was at fault, according to Collins.
