WEST PALM BEACH, FL -- US Senator Bill Nelson is calling on President Obama's administration to start investigating a possible cancer cluster in a community called 'The Acreage.'

Yesterday, the state health department told WPTV there is no obvious cause for concern just yet.

For more than a week WPTV has been tracking brain tumors in The Acreage.

So far, WPTV has tracked more than 30 cases.

Most are children, and every day the number seems to grow.

Now Senator Nelson is asking the EPA and the Centers for Disease Control to get with the state health department as soon as possible and start an aggressive investigation.

Concerning the need for an investigation Senator Nelson said, "If one of us was living through the agony on seeing our child suffer from a brain tumor, we'd be doing likewise."
