Police: Man, 20, kills brother during card game

Last Update: 11/27/2008 10:57 am

ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) -- Orlando police say a card game turned fatal when a 20-year-old man shot his younger brother as the two horsed around.

Witnesses say Joshua Williams had a rifle in his lap as a group of friends played cards at an apartment Wednesday night. They told authorities the brothers had a brief argument, which they described as "horseplay." Witnesses say the victim, 18-year-old Roosevelt Williams III, challenged Joshua to shoot him. Police say Joshua pulled the trigger, hitting Roosevelt in the abdomen. The older brother says he didn't know there was a round of bullets in the gun.

Roosevelt Williams was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Authorities arrested Joshua Williams and charged him with second degree murder.
