Last Update: 6/29 6:50 am

MIAMI (AP) -- Police in Miami say law enforcement officers fatally shot a man who was swinging a machete at another man on a South Florida street.

Spokeswoman Kenia Alfonso said a Miami-Dade corrections officer flagged down a City of Miami officer on Saturday night, after the corrections officer saw the man armed with the machete.

Alfonso said both officers fired their guns.

Authorities didn't immediately release the names of the officers involved in the shooting or the name of the man who was shot and killed.

Officials are investigating.
