Miami-Dade Police searching for cop impersonators

Last Update: 6/30 1:14 pm

MIAMI (AP) -- Police say they are searching for two men, who while impersonating police officers, pulled a man over in South Florida, beat him using a firearm and stole his money.

Police say the man, Allen Davis, is in good condition after the early Tuesday morning beating in northwest Miami-Dade County.

Authorities say the men, who were in a dark blue vehicle, forcibly removed Davis from his car, beat him with a firearm, took an undisclosed amount of money and property from the car and fled.

They identified themselves as police officers.
