Florida autopsies found drugs in half of 2008 cases

MIAMI, FL --  Medical examiners found one or more drugs in the bodies of over half the people they autopsied in Florida in 2008.

That's according to an annual report released Tuesday by state medical examiners.

One or more drugs were found in the bodies of 8,556 people autopsied in Florida in 2008. Medical examiners performed a total of 16,111 autopsies statewide over the course of the year.
