Last Update: 7/28/2009 7:18 am

FORT MYERS, Fla. (AP) -- Authorities have two burglary suspects in custody who dragged a southwest Florida sheriff's deputy for two blocks by the suspect's car.

The Collier County Sheriff's Office says deputies confronted one of the alleged burglars Monday afternoon in a duplex parking lot. The suspect hit the deputy's vehicle and sped away, driving over a chain link fence, a swing set and hitting several other patrol cars before finally stopping.

Cpl. William Pschigoda walked up to the car and the suspect took off again, dragging him for two blocks. He's in stable condition at Lee Memorial Hospital in Fort Myers.

Authorities charged a 17-year-old with burglary, grand theft and fleeing and eluding. Eighteen year-old O.B. Arnold is charged with burglary and grand theft.
