Last Update: 11/02 5:45 am

DELAND, FL (AP) -- Deputies arrested a DeLand woman who allegedly left a 4-year-old girl home alone.

Authorities said Patricia Reynolds, 39, was arrested after deputies found her near an area known for drug and transient activity. She faces charges of child neglect, prisoner escape and resisting an officer with violence.

A woman contacted authorities Saturday morning after the girl had showed up at her doorstep. The girl was dressed in pajamas, shivering and crying. Authorities said the woman brought the girl inside and then walked with her back to the apartment, but no one was there. The woman tried to call both Reynolds and her boyfriend to no avail and then called 9-1-1.

Deputies said they found Reynolds shortly after 8 a.m.

It was not immediately known if Reynolds had an attorney.
