ST. PETERSBURG, Fla - A 15-year-old boy who has only known foster care his whole life recently decided to take action, ABC News reports.
All Davion Navar Henry Only wants is a family "to love me forever."
Davon recently stood before the St. Mark Missionary Baptist Church in St. Petersburg and said "I'll take anyone. Old or young, dad or mom, black, white, purple. I don't care. And I would be really appreciative. The best I could be."
Earlier this year, Davion managed to find his birth mother's name online. He also learned he had been born while she was in jail and that she had a criminal background. He also learned that she had recently died.
At first, he was angry.
"When I found out all that stuff about my family, it made me want to be more successful, no matter what," Davion told ABC News. "I don't want to go down that same path."
Davion just wants a home and a family and to end the cycle of changing foster homes.
"I just want people to know that it's hard to be a foster kid. People sometimes don't know how hard it is and how much we try to do good," he told ABC.
Davion said he is happy that he's been getting calls from people who interested in possibly adopting him.
