Rapper Rick Ross crashes car in South Florida after shots fired at his vehicle

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. - Famous rapper William Roberts, who goes by the stage name of Rick Ross, crashed his vehicle in South Florida after gunshots were fired in his direction, according to the Fort Lauderdale Police department.

Rick Ross, who turned 36 today, was driving near the intersection of Southeast 15 th Avenue and East Las Olas Boulevard in Fort Lauderdale when the shooting began at 5:00 a.m.

Ross, attempting to drive away from the direction of the shots, lost control of his vehicle, crashing into a nearby apartment building.

Neither Ross, nor the passenger in his 2011 Rolls Royce, 29-year-old Shateria Moragne of Davie, were injured in the crash.  

The suspects in the shooting fled before police arrived.
