Legislation banning texting while driving is waiting for governor's signature to become law

 

Legislation banned texting while driving is now awaiting the governor's signature to become law. The Senate passed the bill today.
 
The bill makes texting while driving a secondary offense. A first violation is a $30 fine while a second violation within five years is a $60 fine plus three points on your driver's license.
