OCALA, Fla. - An Ocala woman wondered why Lowe's had not delivered her new refrigerator on time. When she called the store, the explanation was not what she expected.
The appliance, a Frigidaire, was scheduled for delivery on March 25. She called the store to find out when she could expect delivery. She was told she had already been issued a refund for the purchase in the amount of $2097.84.
It turns out that on March 23, another woman went into the same Lowe's, presented a Georgia driver's license with the victim's information on it and was given a refund in the form of Lowe's Merchant cards.
Police say they have surveillance video and are asking for the public's help in finding the ID thief.
