Respiratory problems reported in Pinellas County due to red tide

FWC has released its latest red tide update.

Respiratory irritation was reported over the past week in several Tampa Bay area counties, including Pinellas.

Observations:
Pinellas County: Background to Low Concentrations
Manatee County: Very low to High Concentrations
Sarasota County: Background to High Concentrations
Charlotte County: Low to High Concentrations
Lee County: Background to High Concentrations

According to FWC, forecasts by the USF-FWC Collaboration for Prediction of Red TidesExternal Website for Pinellas to northern Monroe counties predict variable movement of surface waters with net northern transport expected close to shore, and net southeastern transport of subsurface waters over the next three days.
