Hillsborough County deputies are still on the hunt for two men who shot an apartment security guard in Town N Country overnight.
Deputies say that 50 year-old Ammar Al Nueimy was shot twice, once in the chest and the hand when he confronted a group of men last night to tell them they were trespassing.
Al Nueimy was taken to a local hospital where he's in fair condition at last check.
But the bullets rained down on the people living in the Royal Oaks complex.
"Out of nowhere I just hear, 'bop bop bop bop,' like eight shots," said one neighbor.
A nearby car was hit at least twice, and two different windows were smashed out.
A woman who didn't want to show her face or share her name tells ABC Action News one bullet actually came right through her found boys' bedroom where they were up watching TV.
"Now this is a room we can't use. Now they want to sleep in the living room, they don't want to sleep here, because he thinks it's going to happen again," she says.
The bullet left a hole in a window blind and hit the TV they were watching, causing shattered glass to fly everywhere.
"He usually sits up. And where that bullet hole is, it would have hit his back area," she says, "I almost lost him. Because if he was sitting up like he does everyday, he would've been done."
Hillsborough deputies say the suspects are two men who took off after the shooting.
With the bullet holes and manhunt on their mind, neighbors say they don't feel safe anymore.
"I have four kids myself, but this is just way too close to home," one said.
