Want to be Tampa Bay's 'voice' at the Republican National Convention?

TAMPA - The 2012 Tampa Bay Host Committee is looking for one person to be the "Voice" of Tampa Bay during the Republican National Convention in August.

The final four contestants will perform the National Anthem live at the host committee's Volunteer Pep Rally on  August 11. A winner will be chosen on that day and will perform the National Anthem at a host committee event during the week of the RNC Convention.

The rules are as follows:

Must be at least 18 years of age.

Must be a registered "Face" (or volunteer) of the 2012 Tampa Bay Host Committee.

Must be a resident of Tampa Bay (Citrus, Hernando, Hillsborough, Manatee, Pasco, Pinellas, Polk and Sarasota counties).  

Must be available to perform at the Host Committee's Volunteer Pep Rally on Saturday, August 11, 2012.

Must complete volunteer shift requirements prior to final performance.

Must be available to perform at a Host Committee event during the week of the Convention.

Must submit a video of yourself singing the National Anthem (max 75 seconds) via a private message to the Host Committee's Facebook page ( www.facebook.com/2012tampa ). Do not submit it directly on the Host Committee's wall. Any submissions posted on the Host Committee's wall will be automatically disqualified.

The deadline to submit a video is 11:59 p.m. on Sunday, July 15, 2012.

Videos will be published on the Host Committee's Facebook page, and public voting will begin Tuesday, July 17, 2012 and end on Tuesday, July 24, 2012.

The top 10 videos with the most number of "likes" will be judged by a predetermined group of Host Committee volunteers, and the top four videos will be chosen and announced on Tuesday, July 31, 2012.
