A new community program to reach out to working women was started on Thursday in Tampa.

Uber partnered with "Working Women of Tampa Bay" to host a mentorship ride. Tampa Bay area business leaders acted as mentors during the ride. Someone who wanted to be mentored simply had to type in the mentor code into the Uber app.

"We are going to go out using an Uber and pick up some local Tampa professional women and see if we can help them out with some free business advice," said Clear Labs Director Jenn Greacen.

Each mentorship session lasted about fifteen minutes.

"It was the perfect opportunity to get out there have some fun help some people," said Greacen.

The women talked about contract negotiations, promotions, and startup opportunities.

Dozens of women participated in the ride.  Co-organizer Jessica Rivelli said it was the perfect opportunities for working women to connect.

"We won't often ask for a mentor because we don't want to be a burden to anther woman but the thing is women love helping other women," said Rivelli.

Rivelli is hoping the program will become a monthly event.
