TAMPA - The Tampa Bay area remains under a Tropical Storm Warning as a slightly weakened Debby moves slowly toward a Florida landfall.
At 11 a.m., Debby was located about 70 miles west of Cedar Key, where the storm is expected to make landfall sometime on Wednesday.
Debby has maximum sustained winds of 40 mph with higher gusts. Movement is the east at 3 mph.
After moving over land, Debby is expected to weaken to a depression and exit into the Atlantic where it will likely regain tropical storm status and pick up forward speed to the east-northeast.
In the meantime, coastal flooding is expected with the possibility of tornadoes across the peninsula.
