TAMPA - Tropical Storm Chantal degenerated into a tropical wave on Wednesday. All warnings and watches have been canceled.
The determination was made after a reconnaissance aircraft flew into the system.
At 5 p.m., the wave was located about 260 miles south of eastern Cuba. Maximum winds were around 45 MPH.
The remnants of Chantal are expected to spread over Jamaica and eastern Cuba tonight and Thursday. On Friday, the system should be near or over the Florida peninsula.
