Temporary teacher charged with putting shoe in autistic boy's face

TAMPA - A temporary teacher at a Tampa elementary school was charged with child abuse after allegedly grinding a shoe in an autistic boy's face Tuesday afternoon.

The incident happened at Seminole Heights Elementary just after 2:00 p.m.

Esraa Mohamed Soliman, 37,  became upset with a 5-year-old autistic boy because he wasn't listening, officials say.

Soliman allegedly grabbed the boy by the straps of his backpack, dragged him and forced him to sit in a chair. The child threw his shoe at the teacher.

Soliman took the show and used it to grind the boy's face, police say.

The teacher was arrested at her home Wednesday.
