Tampa Police search for armed suspect in string of hotel robberies

TAMPA — Tampa Police Department is looking for an armed suspect they believe is responsible for three hotel robberies.

The first took place on Nov. 20 at about 4:30 a.m. at the Days Inn at 2905 N. 50th St.

The second was Monday at about 3:13 a.m. at the Quality Inn at 2708 N. 50th St.

The most recent was early Tuesday morning at 3:53 at the West Wing Hotel at 2501 E. Fowler Ave.

In the third robbery, the suspect walked up to the front desk, pointed a gun at the clerk and demanded money.

He left on foot carrying a New York Yankees backpack in all three robberies.

Anyone with information on the identity and/or whereabouts of this suspect is asked to contact Crime Stopper at 800-873-TIPS.  Anonymous tips leading to an arrest may be eligible for a reward of up to $3,000 in cash.
