Tampa police are looking for an armed man that is robbing adult novelty stores in the area

TAMPA - Tampa police are looking for an armed man who has robbed two adult novelty stores in the past few days.

The suspect committed the last armed robbery at the XTC Adult Supercenter on October 3 around 6 a.m.

Video surveillance from the store shows the suspect briefly looking at merchandise at the front counter, before he asked the clerk to make change for a "twenty." (Watch video below)

The suspect then pointed a gun at the store clerk and demanded all of the money inside the register, police say.

Then, the suspect ordered the clerk to go to the back of the store and then he fled on foot with cash from the business.

Detectives believe that the same suspect committed a prior armed robbery on September 28 at the Love Shack on Osborne Avenue.

In that incident, police say the suspect again displayed a firearm and demanded cash. The clerk gave him money out of the register and he fled the scene on foot.

There were no injuries reported in either case.

The suspect is described as black male with a large build, 6'4"-6'5", last seen wearing a white t-shirt, dark shorts, white sneakers and a Tampa Bay Rays fitted hat.

Anyone with information about these armed robberies is asked to contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-873-TIPS (8477) or text "CSTB plus your tip" to 274637 (CRIMES).  Anonymous tips leading to an arrest may be eligible for a reward of up to $1000 in cash.
