TAMPA - A Tampa man considered a family friend to a 16-year-old victim was arrested early Thursday morning for raping the teen girl, Tampa Police said.
Nehemie Fontagne, 30, has been charged two counts of sexual battery, because police say this wasn't the first time he'd assaulted the victim.
According to the affidavit, Fontagne, who had known the victim's family for years, took the teen back to his apartment after taking her to a job interview, between 3:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m.
At his apartment, located at 1270 113th Ave E , Fontagne allegedly held to victim down on his bed, undressed her and raped her, police said.
The victim said, "no" and asked to leave his apartment, but the suspect didn't comply.
The teen's guardian contacted police and reported the rape.
Officers surveyed the suspect as he left his job and headed home. Authorities pulled over his vehicle and took the suspect into custody.
Fontagne confessed to the crime.
During the interview, it was revealed that the suspect committed sexual battery on the teen in March of 2009, when she was 14.
In addition to battery charges, Fontagne was charged with false imprisonment.
