Suspect who fails to steal ATM crashes Tampa convenience store

TAMPA - A Tampa convenience store owner is cleaning up after a failed attempted robbery ended with a car crashing through his business early Wednesday morning.

The incident happened at the S & S Food Mart located at 3318 Henderson Boulevard around 2:00 a.m.

Police say the suspect rammed a vehicle right through the front door, then attempted to steal the ATM, but was unsuccessful.

The suspect then went down the street and tried to smash the window of an AT&T store with a brick from the convenience store.

The criminal is still at large.
