Suspect ID'd in Ybor City nightclub murder

TAMPA - He's identified as Bryan Jefferson, 18.  His last known address is 1101 Normandy Circle, #4, in Temple Terrace. He faces second-degree murder charges and police consider him armed and dangerous.

Officers say an argument broke out inside Club Ice around 2:30 Friday morning and it quickly turned violent in the parking lot behind the business.

24-year-old Ricky Ligons was shot twice. He later died at Tampa General Hospital.

Amanda Orescovich works at Kicks on 7th Novelty Shop, in Ybor City.  She says crime is giving the area a bad rap.  Orescovich said, "This is a place where you can come with your family and everything else and it's really, with all the shootings and all the violence going on, it's defaming Ybor's character a little bit."

Last October, one person died at a shooting at Club Empire, in Ybor.  Then, in November, five people were shot at Club Manilla, another Ybor City night club.

Jose Vazquez, a former nightclub security guard, says bouncers need to pay close attention.  Vazquez said, "Look at the safety issues when the people are walking out of the club.  If you think it's a future problem inside the club, let another police officer know."

Managers of Club Ice wrote a statement on Facebook reading in part, "Rick was and always will be a part of our family. He loved life and will be dearly missed."

Anyone with information about the Club Ice shooting is asked to call Tampa Police at (813) 231-6130.  Anyone with information may be eligible for a Crime Stoppers reward.
