School is out and your kids have a lot more free time, but that doesn't mean you do. Sticking to a a strict sleep schedule can be challenging.

The National Sleep Foundation recommends:
  • Ages 3-5, 10 to 13 hours.
  • Ages 6-13, nine to 11 hours.
  • Ages 14-17, eight to 10 hours.
The Mommy Master, Ellie Hirsch, suggests you talk bed time over with your kids and let them know why you're setting it up. She also said you need to stick to what you say, follow through with the bed time you select, so then kids know what to expect. Lastly, have patience with your kids because this is new.

She also suggests to stop feeding your kids sweets in the afternoon and only choose fruit as a dessert in the evening. Also, cut off electronics before bed time. Choose reading time before bed or board games to promote family time.
