School security officer victim of red-light runner hit-and-run
 
Driving through an intersection with a green light early Tuesday morning, a school security officer was hit by a SUV heading east through the red light.  The SUV sped off.
 
School Security Officer Alejandro Claudio, 41, was traveling South on Nebraska Ave. when He entered the intersection of E. Columbus Drive on a green light. 
 
Police said Josean Carrasquillo-Flores, 25, was eastbound on Columbus in a 2003 Infinity SUV when he ran the red light and struck the school security vehicle on the passenger side.
 
Carrasquillo-Flores then fled the scene. Officers in the area saw the vehicle leaving the scene. 
 
Multiple officers responded and the suspect vehicle was found abandoned in the 3800 block of E. Columbus Drive.
 
Officers established a perimeter and Carrasquillo-Flores was arrested.
 
Claudio received minor injuries, and was taken to Tampa General Hospital for observation.
