Sandy causes more flight cancelations at Tampa International Airport

TAMPA - As Superstorm Sandy continues to pummel the east coast, the Tampa Bay area continues to feel the effects, with over one hundred flights stopped in their tracks.

As of 5:30 a.m. Tuesday, about 60 arrivals and 60 departures at Tampa International Airport have been canceled.

A majority of the cancelations are flights to or from New York, New Jersey and the Washington, D.C. area.

Travelers and those picking up travelers should check with the status of flights before heading to the airport by calling ahead or visiting
