TAMPA - Tampa Police and the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force arrested a murder suspect Sunday after his social media activity helped them track him down following a fatal Ybor City shooting early Saturday morning.
The victim, 20-year-old Christian Maffu, was arguing in a parking lot at 1600 East 5th Ave. with his two friends around 3 a.m., when 19-year-old John Chatman overheard the bickering and started taunting the three men.

Chatman then pointed the gun at Maffu's other friend, 19-year-old Brandon Hernandez, and threatened to kill him.
Maffu tried to protect his friend by punching Chatman, but Maffu was knocked to the ground and shot.
He was taken to Tampa General Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
Through the suspect's social media accounts and witness statements, detectives where able to identify and find the suspect.
They contacted the US Marshals Fugitive Task Force and the team quickly tracked him down at his home on Sunday at 3:45 pm and arrested Chatman.
Chatman is charged with second-degree murder, aggravated battery with a firearm and aggravated assault.
