TAMPA - The Tampa Police Department is investigating if there is any connection to the robbery of a MetroPCS store and the armed robberies of two Pasco County convenience stores.
Officers say two men robbed the MetroPCS store at the corner of Dr. Martin Luther King Boulevard and Armenia Avenue around 8:00 p.m. on Thursday night.
Police say the suspects were two black men, one who was wearing a hoodie and a shirt pulled halfway up his face.
Detectives were able to catch the two suspects, whose names have yet to be released.
Tampa Police are now checking with other Bay Area law enforcement agencies to see if MetroPCS robbery is connected to the armed robberies of a 7-Eleven in Land O'Lakes and a Circle K in Wesley Chapel.
The suspects in those robberies, occurring early Wednesday morning, used a similar modus operandi.
Pasco County deputies say the two convenience store suspects were black men who both wore hoodies and masks. The men were able to get away with an undisclosed amount of money from each store.
