Online glitch delays online registration for summer camp programs at Tampa's Parks & Recreation

Parents stuck trying to sign up kids

TAMPA - A online glitch kept some Tampa parents from registering their kids for the city's summer parks programs earlier this week.

The glitch caused the computer registration process to crash  Monday night for an hour and a half.

The city's summer parks program is in high demand because it is such a great deal.  A 10-week program costs just $80. So when the system failed to work Monday night at 6:00 p.m. when registration started, the phones started to ring.

According to Director Greg Bayor, the parks department  staff, along with their IT department, managed to work around the glitch, and they are up and running once again.

Bayor does say there are still plenty of spots available, but some of their more coveted programs are already full.

So if you are planning to register your child, have a second choice ready in case your first is not available.

You can register by heading to the Tampa Parks and Recreation website at .
