About 8:45 p.m. Friday, Hillsborough County sheriff's deputies responded to 5713 Diordora Way in reference to a shooting. When deputies arrived, they found Terrance Roach Jr, address unknown, dead inside an apartment.
"we are currently in the process of processing the crime scene we've been interviewing patrons and conducting interviews with the victims as their medical condition allows," Colonel Donna Lusczynki with the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office said
A woman who lives in the apartment was outside when she was confronted by Roach who was armed with a firearm, a Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office report said. Roach forced the unnamed woman back into to the apartment with the intent believed to be a robbery.
Once inside the apartment, Roach was confronted by a man and a scuffle broke out between the two men. During the scuffle, Roach was shot at least once in the upper body and suffered a fatal gunshot wound. Roach died at the scene.
Homicide sheriff's detectives are continuing the investigation. At this time they believe this was not a random act.
Detectives have identified a possible motive, however, it is not being released at this time nor is any other information.
